Monica is based in Sydney and tasked to further develop Colchester’s reach to financial advisers nationally. Monica has a proven track record in retail funds management with more than 20 years’ experience including distribution roles at Centuria Capital, Charter Hall, Folkestone and Hunter Hall.

Angela MacPherson, Head of Distribution Australia, said ‘I am pleased to welcome Monica to our Australian team. With our strong research ratings and growing coverage on model portfolios, APL’s and platforms, I know she has the candour and gravitas to really connect with advisers.’

‘We are seeing an uplift in allocations to our global sovereign bond portfolios on the back of our defensive style and investor concerns around diversifying their exposures to risk assets such as property and equities’ said Angela. ‘Advisers like the simplicity and transparency of our funds that makes it easy for investors to understand.’

Newly appointed Colchester BDM Monica Hood added: ‘I am delighted to be joining the Australian team. For me, Colchester’s’ appeal is its integrity, its single focus on managing sovereign bonds and its 20 year plus consistent track record. I look forward to working with both new and supporting advisors to build on our considerable distribution network of APL’s, model portfolios, SMA and managed account arrangements.’

Colchester has secured several top ratings from researchers, a broad selection of platform menu listings and many key APL, model and managed account inclusions. Colchester’s flagship fund, the Colchester Global Government Bond Fund has over A$728 million in FUM and is anticipating a continuation of this growth as the market’s desire to include core defensive fixed income assets continues. The Colchester Emerging Markets Bond Fund with over A$29m in AUM, has enhanced the Australian stable of funds and has secured Recommended Ratings from both Zenith and Lonsec, along with listings on several major platforms.
